I have been a proofreader since 2014, having cut my editorial teeth working in-house for a major supermarket chain and a leading greeting card and Advent calendar publisher. In those jobs I proofread anything from products and marketing material to contracts and ingredient information. I have worked freelance for publishers, businesses and non-profits since 2019.
My extensive training, undertaken with the UK's two most highly regarded editorial training providers, the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), is complemented by my studies in the German, French and Italian languages, which have given me an excellent understanding of grammar and syntax, and the roles of different word types within a sentence.
